This emergency episode (recorded March 16, 2020) outlines what blood banks, hospitals, and donors need to know about COVID-19 now.
Let’s Bring in Louie!
In order to answer some of those questions, I asked Dr. Louis Katz to join me for a quick, “emergency” discussion on the issues. Lou describes the current challenges and what blood collectors, blood donors, and hospital transfusion services should be doing now.

Where do I find the template for triage that Dr. Katz refers to?
Thanks!
Dr. Katz was saying that many hospitals developed (or should have developed) during the 2009 pandemic scare. AABB has a very nice document that I will add to the reference list above that shoudl get you started (it’s here if you just want to click).
Thanks Dr. Chaffin for all your quality content. Very informative and topical. Interesting and challenging times indeed!
